House Style Co. installs brand identity systems, communication toolkits, and complete template libraries for Boise and Treasure Valley nonprofits. We strengthen existing materials and build the missing systems underneath, giving overworked development teams practical tools they can run internally. Every project delivers fixed-scope materials, step-by-step documentation, and trained staff, funded wherever possible through capacity building grants rather than operating budgets.
That's what I need
WHAT WE BUILD
FIX 01, BRANDING.
Not a full rebrand. Most organizations already own more than they use. We sort through what exists, strengthen what works, and fill in the rest: design elements, templated graphics, e-tools, and the usage rules that hold it together.
FIX 02, STRATEGY.
We scale the plan to what your team can run: which channels, how often, and what's worth posting. Content banks, cross-promotion around events already on your calendar, and press opportunities worth the ROI.
FIX 03, FRAMEWORKS AND TOOLS.
Template libraries, donor database cleanup, file structures people can navigate, and AI prompt libraries built for your recurring writing. Documented and handed off, with staff trained to run it.
FIX 04, EVENTS AND CAMPAIGNS.
We help with the concept and the communication: planning, preparing, and managing a specific event or campaign. After, we debrief what worked and what didn't, for stronger future impact.
Engagements are scoped and priced up front, with a defined end date.
HOW IT WORKS
01
Listen. We talk to directors, managers, volunteers, and supporters before we propose anything. What we build comes from what we heard.
02
Build. Identity, messaging, templates, systems, and tools, assembled as one connected set rather than a pile of files.
03
Train. Your staff learn to run it, with a named internal owner recorded by role and by person, so the role survives personnel changes.
04
Hand over. You keep everything. It works without us and it survives turnover.
05
Stabilize. For 30 days after handover, we correct minor template problems and adjust written rules at no additional cost.
HOW IT GETS FUNDED
Capacity building grants exist to pay for exactly this kind of work: an investment in the organization itself rather than in a campaign. Every engagement supplies itemized budget lines a grantmaker expects to see, scope language describing what is built and what you hold at the end, and a short outcomes paragraph tying the install to organizational capacity. You bring it to your program officer already in their language.
WHERE THE METHOD CAME FROM
House Style Co. was founded by Lindsey Owen after 17 years building marketing functions inside organizations where marketing was a cost center that had to justify itself. She most recently served as Director of Marketing for a 300+ person engineering, environmental, and construction firm. Her work was about building systems that let a small team produce work that looked like it came from a much larger one. House Style Co. does that for organizations that need it most and can afford it least.
